PURPOSE: To eliminate the propagation delay of clock pulses ΦH1, ΦH2 applied to the transfer electrodes of respective horizontal-transfer registers, in a CCD solid-state image sensing element provided with at least two horizontal-transfer registers.
CONSTITUTION: In a solid-state element, two horizontal-transfer registers 27A, 27B and a transfer gate part are provided respectively. The two horizontal- transfer registers 27A, 27B comprise respectively the arrangements of transfer electrodes 33A, 33B which make respectively the voltages of two adjacent electrode parts 31, 32 equal to each other. The transfer gate part is provided between both the horizontal-transfer registers 27A, 27B, and distributes charges to the registers. Further, on one side of the transfer gate part, the transfer electrodes 33A, 33B are connected respectively with peripheral wiring layers 35, 36, and on the horizontal-transfer register 27A present on the other side of the transfer gate part (the adjacent side to a vertical-transfer register), the two electrode parts 31, 32 are connected with each other.
