Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the subject catalyst component having a high catalyst activity and giving highly stereospecific polymers by bringing metal Mg or an organic Mg compound, a halogen-containing compound, a liquid Ti compound and a compound having plural ether linkages through plural atoms into contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene and/or alpha-olefin are polymerized in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising (A) a solid titanium catalyst component and (B) an organic metal compound catalyst component containing a metal selected from the group I-III metals to provide an olefinic polymer, the solid titanium catalyst component being prepared by bringing metal Mg or an organic Mg compound, a halogen-containing compound, a liquid titanium compound and a compound having two or more ether linkages therein through plural atoms into contact with each other and containing Ti, Mg, halogen and two or more ether linkages.
