PURPOSE: To damp noise generated from a fuel pump by means of gas for preventing noise from propagating outward a fuel tank by screening the fuel pump dipped in fuel in the fuel tank with a vessel like structure filled up with gas.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel pump 3 is housed, being supported by a bracket 2 inside a fuel tank 1, and it is dipped into fuel liquid 4. In this case, the fuel pump 3 is covered with a vessel like structure 21, and the bottom part of the vessel like structure 21 is opened to the fuel liquid 4. Negative pressure is generated in a venturi part 22 with fuel flowing through a return fuel pipe 12 following actuation of the fuel pump 3, therewith the gas staying gaseous phase part 1a at the upper part of the inside of the fuel tank is sucked from a gas introduction tube 23. Thereafter, sucked gas is filled up into the inside of the vessel like structure 21 from the pipe end part 24. Noise generated from the fuel pump 3 is thus by using the gas.
