Abstract:

To provide a sound recorder where stereo recording is changed over to monaural recording and vice versa in response to an attitude, and a stereo microphone allowing sound recording further high in stereo effect is arranged.

This nearly rectangular solid sound recorder includes: two first sound acquisition means for inputting stereophonic sound thereto; a second sound acquisition means for inputting monaural sound thereto; and a support means to hold the sound recorder in a predetermined attitude; and is characterized in that the first and second sound acquisition means are arranged on surfaces different from each other, and the two first sound acquisition means are arranged at both ends of a long side of a sound recorder body. The sound recorder further includes an opening/closing detection means to detect the opening/closing state of the support means, and an attitude detection means to detect the attitude of the sound recorder body, and is characterized in that stereo recording is changed over to monaural recording and vice versa, based on the detection result of the opening/closing detection means and that of the attitude detection means.
