To provide an acoustic reproduction device and an acoustic reproduction method, capable of controlling frequency characteristics corresponding to one acoustic type to more optimal frequency characteristics by controlling acoustic frequency characteristics according to the acoustic type.

An audio output conversion device 100 as the acoustic reproduction device is provided with: an acoustic amplification part 110 for amplifying input audio data by a predetermined amplification rate for every frequency characteristics of the audio data; and a control part 130 for controlling the amplification rate of every frequency characteristics. The control part 130 controls the frequency characteristics of the amplification rate based on a volume value designated from the outside and information for identifying the type of audio data.
