PURPOSE: To provide a source program editor capable of unifying the name of membership function of each class and the type and number of arguments, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A source code input/output part 1 samples the succession relation of each class defined in a source code 7, and records it on an inter-class succession relation storage part 21. When a user defines additionally a certain class, a parent class name is sampled from definition information. A class name retrieval part 23 samples the class name that is the succession base of the class defined additionally from inter-class succession relation data 22. A class membership function definition information retrieval part 26 samples the definition information on the membership function defined in a succession base class from the result of sampling, and displays it on a display device 4. As a result, the definition of the membership function is copied on the definition information data 25 every class of the class under edition at present when the user selects and copies the definition of the membership function to be re-defined by the class generated newly from the list of a displayed function.
