Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve tensile strength and knot strength by twisting plural wire members to form a stranded wire as the composite material of metallic stranded wires and resins and coating this wire with a synthetic resin at a prescribed thickness. CONSTITUTION:At least a part of a frame body and/or temple holding a lens is constituted of the composite member consisting of the stranded wire 3 formed by twisting and doubling plural wires of <=200mum wire diameter coated with a metal plating and the synthetic resin 4. The strength is, therefore, high and the formation of the frame body and temples to a smaller diameter at need is possible. The degree of freedom in design is correspondingly improved. The plural steel wires are stranded to form the stranded wire and the wire is coated with the synthetic resin 4 to >=4mum film thickness, by which the holding member 1 is made into out of roundness as a whole and is brought into uniform contact with the lens. The knot strength at the time of fixing the member to the frame body is improved and the loosening of the knot part is obviated. As a result, the holding power of the lens is exceedingly improved and the life is greatly prolonged.
