To provide an inexpensive speech speed conversion device capable of performing high-speed reproduction of speech without changing pitch using one-chip microcomputer.
The inexpensive speech speed conversion device is achieved, which includes: a microphone for inputting the speech; a jack for outputting the speech; an ADC for converting the input speech into digital speech data; a DAC for re-converting the digital speech data into speech; a memory card for recording the digital speech data; the one-chip microcomputer for executing a program; a program memory storing algorithm; a display part for displaying an operational status; and an operational part for allowing a user to select an operation. A smooth high-speed reproduction of the speech is achieved by performing superposition (addition) after multiplying the digital speech data by a window function when reproducing the speech to suppress deterioration of speech during high-speed reproduction and a phase shift of a joint between data.
