Title:
SPHYGMOMANOMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3671746
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer which can reduce a sense of oppression of a user by sufficiently coping with the individuals' differences in the position of the wrist artery and preventing the deviation of an air bag being pressurized and a miss of the artery and which can improve the preciseness of blood-pressure determination to determine a correct blood-pressure value.
SOLUTION: This sphygmomanometer winds an air bag 1 round the wrist to pressurize it or make it ischemic. In this case, in order that the air bag 1 may pressurize or make ischemic only the radial artery 3 without pressurizing the ulnar artery 4, it shall have a length L which starts from a hard tissue area 50 such as a tendon 9 on the palm side of the wrist, passes through the radial artery 3 when being wound on the side of the radius 5 and reaches at least a radial stylus 7 without reaching the ulnar artery 4 and shall have a width D which many cause the air bag to pressurize locally the radial artery 3 at least approximately just on the radial stylus 7 longitudinally to the wrist.
