PURPOSE: To obtain proper exposure that corresponds to the purpose of photographing by generating an exposure factor signal with which a subject part, measured according to a spot photometric value, to be reproduced nearly at the limit density of film latitude.

CONSTITUTION: When memory switch 15 is closed in order to obtain an exposure value with which a measured area is reproduced at the upper end of film latitude, the output of counter block 17 is inverted to a high level and memory 22 in memory block 21 is selected. With switch 31 closed, a digital spot measurement logarithmic conversion value stored in memory 22 is processed for subtraction by adjusting circuit 28 with set data that corresponds to nearly a half film latitude of exposure factor stage-number difference signal outputting method 35. This subtraction-processed photometric information data is latched by latch circuit 55 via data selecting circuit 61 and the exposure signal with which the measured area is reproduced at the upper end of the film latitude is determined through arithmetic circuit 56. Similarly, proper exposure with which it is reproduced at the lower limit of the film latitude can be obtained according to the purpose of photographing.
