PURPOSE: To easily afford a refractory coating at low cost by separately conveying a hydraulic cement binder slurry and an aqueous solution containing a magnesium halide etc., joining them at a spraying nozzle and conducting a spray coating.
CONSTITUTION: Firstly, water is added to a hydraulic cement binder (e.g. Portland cement) and the mixture is kneaded to prepare a slurry. Separately, a magnesium halide (e.g. magnesium chloride) and/or magnesium oxyacid salt (e.g. magnesium sulfate) are dissolved in water to prepare an aqueous solution. Second, the slurry and the aqueous solution are conveyed through different pumps and transport pipes, respectively, being joined and mixed at the spraying nozzle, and the resultant mixture is then sprayed on the skeleton frames, etc., of a building to afford a refractory coating. Incorporation of calcium hydroxide and/or calcium oxide in the slurry other than the hydraulic cement binder can further accelerate the pseudocuring reaction in the spray coating operation.
