To prevent a spring from falling off during an assembly process of a coil spring between an upper spring bearing and a lower spring bearing and noise from being generated after assembly in the spring bearing structure for the hydraulic shock absorber.
In this spring bearing structure for the hydraulic shock absorber 10 in which the spring is off-set, inclined, and disposed to the hydraulic shock absorber body, and an outer periphery restraint portion 41 for restraining an outer periphery of the spring is provided at an outer periphery of a seat surface of the upper and lower spring bearings 21, 22, there are provided projections 42, 43 for supporting a plurality of portions (at 1/4 and 1/2 turns) of the lower spring bearing 21, which are separated from an inner periphery of an effective end coil portion 30 of the spring in a peripheral direction.
