PURPOSE: To smooth opening and closing of a hinge for spectacles, and also to facilitate use of a spectacle by putting a spring inside a cylinder of the hinge and by providing the cylinder with a split part.

CONSTITUTION: An arm (c) is fixed by a pin (e), and a spring (a) is put inside a cylinder, and smooth and constant opening and closing motion is given to a hinge for spectacles by friction of a pressing member (b) and the arm (c). By opening the arm (c) more then 90 degrees by means of a slit part provided to the cylinder, and then by turning it to its original position by force of the spring, a spectacle can be easily put on. Thus, the hinge can be smoothly opened or closed independently of adjustment of a screw of the hinge, and also the adjustment of a screwing tool can be dispensed with.
