Abstract:

To provide a water sprinkling biofiltration method that enhances removal effect of organic substances and suspended matters in water to be treated while saving an energy cost.SOLUTION: A water sprinkling biofiltration apparatus 100 includes a filter bed 104 filled with a filter material 103, a sprinkling unit 108 of water to be treated arranged above the filter bed, and an outflow unit 136 of treated water arranged below the filter bed. A storage unit 105 is installed for storing the water to be treated that is sprinkled from the sprinkling unit and flows down in the filter bed toward the lower part of and below the filter bed. A section of the filter bed that is not immersed with water in the storage unit is a water-sprinkled filter bed 106 in which the water to be treated sprinkled from the sprinkling unit flows down. A section of the filter bed that is immersed with water in the storage unit is a biofiltration unit 107. Air circulating means 109 is installed for circulating air into the water-sprinkled filter bed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
