Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square secondary battery which can suppress the worsening in productivity, and which allows an electrolyte solution to infiltrate between electrodes readily even if the capacity is increased.SOLUTION: The square secondary battery comprises an electrode group 40 having positive and negative electrodes 41, 42 wound up and flattened. In the square secondary battery, current collector exposed portions 41c, 42c of the positive and negative electrodes 41, 42 have a plurality of notched portions 41d, 42d where lengths L1d, L2d of the positive and negative electrodes 41, 42 in a winding direction R are even, and a plurality of tab portions 41e, 42e where lengths L1e, L2e in the winding direction R gradually increase from start ends of the winding of the positive and negative electrodes 41, 42 toward terminal ends 41E, 42E. The electrode group has a flat portion 40a, and the plurality of tab portions 41e, 42e are arranged on the flat portion to overlap therewith. The plurality of notched portions 41d, 42d are disposed to overlap with at least one of curved portions 40b of the positive and negative electrodes 41, 42 curved and wound up on both sides of the flat portion 40a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
