Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the stiffness of a member by filling a square steel pipe with concrete, and forming a number of through holes and projections on projecting reinforcing ribs provided in the steel pipe.

CONSTITUTION: A square steel pipe 1 is filled with concrete 2, and long, continuous or intermittent ribs 3 are provided longitudinally in the square steel pipe 1 so that they are projected into inside. Then, a number of through holes 4 through which concrete 2 is passed, or small projections of checkered pattern, etc., are formed on the reinforcing ribs 3. Thus, adhesion between the concrete and the reinforcing ribs can be improved to increase stiffness.
