Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SSD storage system using an SSD capable of preventing deterioration in writing response even if garbage collection occurs.SOLUTION: An SSD storage system comprises: an invalid page number counting unit 111 that comprises a spare SSD 5 for a spare and counts the number of invalid pages on which invalid data is already written in each block in an SSD 3 or SSD 4; a threshold value exceeding detection unit 112 that, when detecting a block in which the invalid page number exceeds a prescribed page number threshold value, detects the block as an object block which is a garbage collection object; a spare SSD writing unit 121 that stops writing operation into the object block, and switches to writing operation to write data that should be written into the object block, into an arbitrary block in the spare SSD 5 instead; and a garbage collection execution unit 311 that performs garbage collection for the object block using the object block and the arbitrary specified block.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
