Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a stabilized lithium powder that improves the initial charge/discharge efficiency when made into a battery; and a lithium ion secondary battery using the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a stabilized lithium powder having a coating made of an inorganic compound on the surface of lithium particles, and in which the inorganic compound contains lithium carbide, and by having said constitution and as the stabilized lithium powder contains the lithium carbide having low water absorptivity, the reaction between lithium and water can be suppressed and the lithium content in the stabilized lithium powder is hard to be decreased, thereby the initial charge/discharge efficiency can become possible to be improved. Preferably, the lithium carbide content in the stabilized lithium powder is 10 wt.% or more and the coating content in the stabilized lithium powder is 1 to 20 wt.%. There is also provided a lithium ion secondary battery having a negative electrode 20 doped with the stabilized lithium powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
