Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. having improved heat resistance, transparency and initial discoloration of halogen-contg. resins, by dissolving methionine hydantoin and a Group II metal compd. in an alkylphenol or an alkylene oxide adduct thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A stabilizer compsn. for halogen-contg. resins such as vinyl chloride (co)polymer or chlorinated polyethylene is obtd. by dissolving methionine hydantoin and a Group II metal compd. such as ZnCl2 or a mixture thereof with MgCl2 in an alkylphenol and/or an alkylene oxide adduct thereof such as nonylphenyl or an adduct of 4mol of ethylene oxide to nonylphenol. Halogen- contg. resins having excellent heat resistance, transparency and initial discoloration can be obtd.
