To provide a low-cost, light-weight and compact stack of sheet pressing device, obtaining the pressing force required for pressing a stack of sheets with small driving force, and efficiently obtaining the required pressing force corresponding to each pressing stage.
This stack of sheet pressing device 6C includes: a driving source 70 for supplying the power for generating the pressing force; a pressing means 68 applied to a stack S of sheets to press the stack of sheets to a predetermined support surface 19; and a force converting and transmitting means 72 for converting the power from the driving source 70 to the pressing force in the direction substantially orthogonal to the support surface 19 and transmitting the same to the pressing means 68, and the force converting and transmitting means 72 for doubling the power supplied from the driving source 70 and transmitting the same to the pressing means 68.
