PURPOSE: To make a recording player of one-point turning type small-sized by using a mechanism which repeats the start state and the stop state alternately independently of the position of a pickup arm.

CONSTITUTION: A driving auxiliary plate 21 which can be rotated in a certain range is arranged on a driving plate 12, and a switch control piece 14 is so arranged that it rubs the peripheral part of the driving auxiliary plate 21. The mechanism repeating the operation, where the switch control piece 14 rotates a moving piece 13 to start the pickup at the first time and does not rotate the moving piece 13 to stop the pickup at the second time, is used. Since the switch control piece 14 repeats the start state (the moving piece 13 is raised) and the stop state (the moving piece 13 is not raised) alternately independently of the position of a pickup arm 15 in this manner, a rest position and an LP record start position can be placed close to each other, and consequently, the player of one-point turning type is made small-sized.
