To speed up synchronization, and to shorten starting time by sending a command to a circuit breaker, and connecting a generator to a generator busbar synchronously at the point of time, when a frequency deviation and a phase difference satisfy a shychronizing condition, controlling the difference of the frequency of the generator from that of a generator bus bar may be a specified frequency difference.
In a starter for a generating apparatus which starts two generators 8a, 8b successively, connects them to a generator busbar 18, and performs parallel operation, automatic synchronizing apparatuses 99a, 99b for each generator 8a, 8b is provided with an adder and subtractor 108 and a frequency difference setter 107. Here, the outputs of a frequency detector 101 and a frequency difference setter 107 are added, and moreover the output of a frequency detector 100 is subtracted by the adder and subtractor 108, in the automatic synchronizing apparatus 99b, when a generator 8b started later is connected to a generator bus bar 18 in the course of performing charging by a generator 8a which started ahead for example. Then the frequency difference between the output of the generator 8b and that of the generator bus bar 18 is enlarged to speed up synchronization.
