To provide a starter switch in which ID information is simple, security is high, price is low, assembling is easy and power consumption is small and to prevent theft and tampering.

This starter switch has a transmission request button switch 23 to which a microcomputer 12 for storing ID information, a transmitter 21 and a receiver 22 are connected, a time-limit holding circuit 24 in which the microcomputer 12, the transmitter 21 and the receiver 22 are connected to a battery 57 with the microcomputer 12, and an RF-ID semiconductor device 25 or a non-contact recognition type IC chip for storing the ID information unique to a holder constituted in a pair with the ID information of the microcomputer 12 and attached to an article carried by the holder, and when the transmission request button switch 23 is operated and the device 25 or its non-contact recognition type IC chip is in the neighborhood of an electronically control unit 11, an electromagnetic coil of an electromagnetic switch is electrified so as to start a starter.
