PURPOSE: To enhance the easiness in handling and the waterproofness of a starter in which a lead from a key switch is connected with an insulative contact case of a magnet switch through an insulative waterproof connector, by coupling together the case and connector through a locking means.
CONSTITUTION: A magnet switch for a starter is structured by engaging a contact case 21 with a waterproof connector 3 leading from the wiring on the key switch side. Therein the waterproof connector 3 is engaged with the contact case 21 which fixes a suction coil terminal 23 of magnet switch, and the coil terminal 23 is connected with a connector terminal 32 provided in the connector 3. In the case 21 the coil terminal 23 is fixed by molding, and a projection 31 is formed in such a way as enclosing the periphery of the coil terminal 23. Projection 31 is formed on the connector 3 in such a way as enclosing the connection part of the connector terminal 32, and a seal packing 33 is fitted in the internal circumference of this projection. The case 21 is provided with a locking means 25 while the connector 3 is furnished with a lock piece 35 and unlocking piece 36.
