PURPOSE: To realize a compact design and at the same time to avoid a stylus jump for a static record player by fitting with a play an engaging bar of a pickup stand into a slit of a bracket and giving resistance to the up-down movements of the pickup by the friction produced between the tip of the engaging bar and the fringe part of the slit.
CONSTITUTION: An engaging bar 8 provided to a pickup stand 7 is fitted with a play into a slit 5 of a bracket 3 for attachment of a pickup. Thus the pickup 11 can be easily set into a narrow turntable 1. Then the stand 7 is turned around a supporting shaft 10 in response to the up-down movements of a stylus tip 12 during its tracing. As a result, a slide part 8a of the bar 8 is turned around the axial core of the bar 8 while having a contact with the fringe of the slit 5. Thus the appropriate resistance is given to the up-down movements of the pickup 11. Thus, a stylus jump is prevented, despite the warp and bending of a record disk. In such a constitution, a compact design is attained for a static record player with no stylus jump.
