Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce thermal stresses of a turbine rotor and a nozzle box, by a method wherein low temperature steam is led into a space surrounded with the turbine rotor, the nozzle box and a packing head, and the surface of the nozzle box is covered by a heat insulating material. CONSTITUTION:Low temperature steam come out of a first step moving vane is made to stream into a space 4 surrounded with a turbine rotor 1, a nozzle box 2 and a packing head 3 through a balance hole 5 of the turbine rotor 1. Heat insulating materials 7 and 8 are installed on an internal and an external circumferential surfaces of the nozzle box 2 respectively. The turbine rotor 1 is prevented from bending and a temperature distribution of the nozzle box 2 is equalized in this way.
