To provide a steel strip for an image display device member used as a constituting component, such as a partition or a back side plate, of an image display device capable of preventing the separation due to joining to a glass substrate; and to provide an image display device member such as a partition member or a back side plate member using the same.
The steel strip for an image display device member is a Fe-Ni-Co alloy having a thermal expansion coefficient of 7.5-9.5×10-6/°C in the range of from 20°C to the Curie point and having a Curie point of 450°C or higher. The Fe-Ni-Co alloy comprises at least 20 mass% Ni, at least 2 mass% Co, the content of (Ni+Co) being 45 mass% or higher but lower than 60 mass%, and the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities. An image display device member is prepared by at least forming an oxide layer on the surface of a metal plate made of the Fe-Ni-Co alloy, provided the oxide layer is one reflecting at least a part of visible rays with wavelengths of 400-700 nm at a reflectance higher than 50%.
