Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate checkup of a twist of a tape and a difference in the reference point of a scale by making different ground coating colors of the opposite surfaces of a steel tape measure from each other. CONSTITUTION:This steel tape measure is prepared in the following way. A white ground coat 2 of acrylic resin is applied on one surface of a steel tape 1 and a ground coat 3 of the acrylic resin of a color other than white on the other surface thereof by flow coater coating or airless coating, and a prescribed measuring scale 4 is printed on the ground coats on both of the surfaces. Moreover, a clear coat 5 of transparent acrylic resin is applied thereon and further transparent nylon 6 is applied thereon by extrusion molding. Accordingly, ground coating treatment can be performed at a high speed, adhesion among the steel tape, the ground coats, the clear coat and the nylon is excellent, and a permissible variation of a small length which can not be obtained by a textile tape measure is obtained.
