Abstract:
PURPOSE: To change the handle position through simple operation by providing a tilt-away mechanism movable up and down against the fixed section in the wheel itself in a steering device.
CONSTITUTION: A tilt-away mechanism 13 for tilt away a wheel 12 is incorporated in a spoke 14 of the wheel 12. The tilt-away mechanism 13 is constructed with a center bracket 19 fixable to the main shaft and the sliding rods 17, 18 to be fixed to the wheel side slidable up and down against the guide members 23, 24 projected from the center bracket 19. When engaging the notches 39, 40 formed in said rods 17, 18 with the nail member of a locking rod 34 provided in said members 23, 24, the rods 17, 18 can be stopped at the predetermined position.
