Abstract:
To provide novel agents capable of maintaining and activating stem cell properties of mesenchymal stem cells as well as external preparations for skin and cosmetics containing the agents.SOLUTION: The invention provides a gene expression enhancer comprising hydroxyproline or pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof as an effective ingredient and enhancing the expression of a gene selected from the group consisting of LIF, COMP and FMOD genes. The invention also provides an agent capable of maintaining and activating the stem cell properties of mesenchymal stem cells comprising hydroxyproline or pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof as an effective ingredient.
