To ensure the application of pressing force to remote direction by coaxially disposing a movable sheath above a stent on a balloon positioned at a remote part of a blood vessel forming balloon catheter, and enabling the insertion thereof into a narrow part inside the blood vessel of a human body through the application of the pressing force to the remote part therewith.
In a blood vessel forming balloon catheter system 10, a blood vessel forming balloon 23 is placed at a remote position 8 of a stent supply catheter system 5, and thereonto a stent 40 which can swell the balloon 23 is mounted. Around the catheter 10 a slidable sheath 30 is disposed coaxially therewith. The stent 40 which is not yet placed is centered in a narrow part of an arterial tube, then the sheath 30 is pulled back, and the preparation for swelling the stent 40 is carried out. Thereafter, the balloon 23 is swelled so that the narrow part may be expanded by the stent 40, and with the application of pressing force the narrow part is penetated thereby. Accordingly, it is possible to apply the pressing force in the remote direction to a point in the vicinity of the stent 40 which is not yet placed.
