To provide a stereoscopic image display device displaying data for a stereoscopic image while interpolating them so as to optimize color information.
Format converting parts 108a and 108b refer to an interpolation method of color information of images for left and right eyes extracted by a demultiplexing part 106 and interpolate the color information of the images for the left and right eyes decoded by decoders 107a and 107b to convert the images to have a predetermined format. A composition part 109 combines the images for the left and right eyes converted by the format converting parts 108a and 108b. A display part 110 displays a stereoscopic image in accordance with the image combined by the composition part 109. Therefore, the data for the stereoscopic image are interpolated to optimize the color information, thereby displaying an image more stereoscopic.
