Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stimulation-responsive compound capable of deformation(displacement) at a low voltage, an actuator using the stimulation-responsive compound and a method of producing a stimulation-responsive compound.SOLUTION: A stimulation-responsive compound includes a unit A having a bond functioning as a rotation axis, a first unit B arranged at a first binding site of the unit A, a second unit B arranged at a second binding site of the unit A, a fist unit C bound to the first unit B and a second unit C bound to the second unit B. The first and second units B are bound together through an oxidation-reduction reaction, and the first and second units C have liquid crystal properties.
