To provide a stirring apparatus and a stirring method which enables the efficient stirring polishing of a required amount of an object for a short time by rotating a tubular main body in which the object is charged and thereby developing plural pieces of convection of the object in the tubular main body and bringing the plural pieces of convection into collision with each other, and also to provide a stirring apparatus and a stirring method which enables the easy and inexpensive operation and is excellent in durability, handleability, maintenance, energy efficiency and also the freedom of design without using a complicated structure.

This stirring apparatus is provided with the tubular main body 10 which stores the object to be stirred therein, a first stirring member 20 which is planar and is projectingly fixed on the inner wall surface of the tubular main body 10, a second stirring member 30 for stirring the object to be stirred in a direction different from the first stirring member 20 and a driving means which rotatively drives the tubular main body 10.
