STOPPING METHOD FOR INDIRECT INTERNAL REFORMING TYPE SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELL

Abstract:

To provide a stopping method for an indirect internal reforming type solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) for attaining certain reforming and prevention of anode oxidation deterioration.

The stopping method for a SOFC includes: (A) a step of measuring temperature T for a reforming catalyst layer; (C) a step of setting as T≥TrE if a fuel flow rate Fk(j) wherein Tr(j) is T or below and the Tr(j) is from Fk(1) to less than FkE in the fuel flow rate Fk(j), exists ; (C1) a step of defining the j giving the minimum Fk(j) as J and defining a supply fuel flow rate to a reformer as Fk(J); (C2) a step of comparing with the TrE by measuring the T; (C3) a step of moving to the step D by setting the supply fuel flow rate to the reformer at FkE if it is T≤TrE; (C4) a step of comparing the T with the Tr(J) if it is T>TrE; (C5) a step of returning to the step C2 if it is T>Tr(J); (C6) a step of increasing the J by 1 by increasing the supply fuel flow rate to the reformer to Fk(J+1) if it is T≤Tr(J); (C7) a step of returning to the step C2 if it is J≠M after the step C6 and moving to the step D if it is J=M; and (D) a step of waiting till anode temperature becomes under an oxidation deterioration point. Here, regarding a generated amount of reforming gas when anode temperature of the solid oxide fuel cell is at temperature of more than the oxidation deterioration point, a flow rate of a hydrocarbon fuel supplied to the reformer is expressed as FkE if the minimum flow rate necessary for preventing oxidation deterioration of the anode is all filled up, and a temperature condition of a reforming catalyst layer at the state is expressed as TrE.
