Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a strand fiber having lubricity while making the coating layer thinner by coating a strand fiber with a granular coating material having high mechanical strength and superior lubricity.

CONSTITUTION: A strand fiber 1 consists of a core 2, a clad 3 and a support pipe 4 coated with a granular coating material 5 having high mechanical strength and superior lubricity such as molybdenum disulfide or graphite. The fiber 1 is provided with lubricity while making the coating layer 5 thinner, and freely bendable bundled fibers enabling easy operation are obtd. using the fiber 1.
