PURPOSE: To form various kinds of gate posts by selectively mounting ornamental covering members coincident in the structure of a structural member itself and differed in form and pattern.

CONSTITUTION: Connecting hollow blocks 30, 30 are mounted on both lateral outer surfaces of the upper end part of the structural main member 2 of an intermediate gate post 1a, the structural main member 2, 2 end parts of lateral horizontal members 1b, 1b are put on and fixed to each block, and the lateral horizontal member 1b, 1b end parts are connected to the upper end part of the middle gate post 1a, respectively. For ornamental covet-ing members 3a, 3b, the end parts of the vertical ornamental covering members 3a, 3b of the horizontal member 1b have priority, and the lateral onrnamental covering members 3a, 3b of the gate post 1a are cut by the vertical width portion of the horizontal member 1b so as to be shorter than the structural main member 2 of the gate post 1a. A structural member 1 is used as a horizontal member for mutually connecting the upper end parts of gate posts 1a, 1b opposed to the gate post 1a. Several kinds of ornamental covering members are prepared to the structural main members 2 of the gate post 1a and the horizontal member 1b, and selectively mounted by preference, whereby various kinds of gate posts 1a and horizontal members 1b are formed.
