Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp-contrast image of high quality by arraying optical fibers where light from the center of a light source is made incident at end parts along a scanning line on a document side and arraying optical fibers where light from the peripheral edge of the light source is made incident at the center part of the scanning line. CONSTITUTION:The center light L1 and peripheral edge light L2 from the light source 2 are emitted from both side parts 24a and the center part 24b of an emission side holder 24, and the light L1 and L2 are converged on the main scanning line 11 on a document S through a cylindrical lens 16 to illuminate the main scanning line 11. The document S outputs image information from the main scanning line 11 as reflected light beam L3 and L4, which are corrected to a uniform light quantity according to a cosine biquadratic rule when passing through an image forming lens 28, and the reflected light L3 having a large angle of incidence on the lens 28 is decreased in quantity after being transmitted, so the reflected light L4 which has a small angle of incidence becomes equal in quantity; and the image information is image-formed on a CCD 30 with the nearly equal quantity of light and photoelectric conversion processing is performed to obtain a specific image signal.
