Abstract:
To obtain a structure and a method of mounting a ferrule of an optical fiber, with which the cost is reduced and at the same time, loss of fiber is reduced.
An elastic cylindrical body 20, which is made of rubber or nylon or plastic or the like, for example, is inserted between a high-tensile fiber 13 and a coated optical fiber 14. Then, a metal ferrule 30 is caulked by a pair of pressing pliers, which has a regular polygon or a true circular shape, at the position corresponding to the elastic cylindrical body 20.
