PURPOSE: To facilitate operation and improve operability by forming a hinge mounting surface of an opening and closing member like an engine hood to cross an opening and closing member panel and thereby enabling bolts of a hinge arm to be fastened laterally of a car body.

CONSTITUTION: A hood hinge 1 is constituted from a hinge bracket 10 welded for example to a cowl top 2 of a car body, a hinge arm 12 combined with an inside reinforcement 40 of an engine hood 4 and a hinge pin 14 for interconnecting rotatably these parts 10, 12. The hood 4 is formed such that a hinge mounting surface provided on a bead 41 projecting from a general surface in the inside reinforcement 40 crosses a hood panel 44. Also, a mounting side end 120 of the hinge arm 12 is folded to coincide with said mounting surface 42. Thus, the operability can be improved by enabling an operator to fasten a fastening bolt 6 from the side of the hood 4 with a tool 40.
