STUD REVET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10122218
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a stud rivet which can be easily mounted to the baseplate without requiring welding, and can also be mounted in an assembling process.

The upper part of a shank part 9 of a stud which comprises a rivet 1 made of a soft metal which is provided with a sleeve 6 having a diameter smaller than a mounting hole 4 on the bottom surface of a flange having a diameter larger than the mounting hole 4 and a stud 2 made of a hard metal in which a head part 8 is adhered closely to the lower end surface of the sleeve 6 and its shank part 9 passes through the interior of the rivet 9 to be projected above the flange shall be a holding part 11, and the part under a part 10 of a small diameter to be cut shall be a parts mounting part 12 to be retained by screwing. The holded part 11 of the shank part 9 is mechanically held, and the sleeve 6 is inserted into the mounting hoe 4 which is formed in a baseplate 3 of body steel plate or the like. After the sleeve is inserted into the mounting hole 4 until the flange 5 comes into contact with the baseplate 3, the shank part 9 is pulled upward with a strong force while pressing down the upper surface of the flange 5. As a result, the sleeve 6 made of a hard metal is compressed between the head part 8 of the stud 2 and the baseplate 3 and plastically deformed to be bulged outward to fix the stud rivet to the baseplate 3 by caulking.
