USE: Dyes for dyeing hydrophobic fibers red-violet W blue in clear and excellent wet fastness. Suitable for sublimation printing.

PREPARATION: Both aldehydes of formulae V and VI, respectively, are condensed in an alcohol to form a compound of formula VII. This compound is then dissolved in an aprotic solvent such as DMF followed by adding an alkali cyanide to add cyanic acid and furthermore by making an oxidizing agent act on the system.
