PURPOSE: To obtain a skin drug for external use, excellent in UV-A absorbing power, capable of mixing with a non-polar base material and showing excellent properties in use by blending a styryl ketone derivative.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of the formula (R1 is isopropyl, ter-butyl or isobutyl; R2 and R3 are 1-18C straight or branched chain, saturated or unsaturated alkyl), e.g. (3-methoxy-4-isooctyloxystyryl t-butyl ketone is blended in an amount of 0.1-20wt.%, preferably 0.5-10wt.%. If a non-polar oil, e.g. fluid paraffin, squalane or silicone oil is used as the base oil, excellent feelings in use such as excellent spreadability, refreshing feeling and unstickiness and functions such as excellent waterproofness and resistance to flow away due to perspiration or water can be obtained.
