PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of sensitivity, to increase recording density at an initial time and to obtain an excellent large-number of recording characteristics by forming an ink layer, in which a sublimating dye and a microcapsule containing the sublimating dye are dispersed into an organic binding agent, into a base body.
CONSTITUTION: An ink laver in which a sublimating dye and a microcapsule including the sublimating dye are dispersed into an organic binding agent is shaped onto a base body. A plural kind of microcapsules, the glass transition temperatures Tg of microcapsule films of which differ, may also be used as the microcapsule when the Tg of a material constituting the film is kept within the temperature range of the ink layer at the time of thermal transfer printing. When size smaller than the thickness of the ink layer is used as the size of the microcapsule included in the ink layer, the microcapsule having uniform grain size may also be employed, and the microcapsule having nonuniform grain size may also be mixed.
