Title:
SUBMERGED ARC WELDING WIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5487648
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve toughness of welded metal and post-embrittlement after stress removal annealing, a submerged arc welding wire is provided with a composition consisting of particularly reduced amount of Mn and specified amount of C, Si, Mo, Ti, B and other ingredients in steel composition.

CONSTITUTION: A submerged arc welding wire using steel consiting of C≤0.15%, Si≤0.8%, Mn:0.4 to 1.5%, Mo≤1.0%, Ti:0.1 to 0.4%, B:0.006 to 0.02%, one or more of Ni≤3.0%, Cu≤0.5%, Cr≤1.0% and balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities is provided. The wire is useful for welding steel for pipe line used in cold district. Since content of C and Si is low, adverse effect on toughness of welded metal is effectively prevented. Specifically reduced amount of Mn provides welded metal with SR (stress removal annealing)-embrittlement-resistance maintained within a range of optimum condition.
