NEW MATERIAL: Compounds represented by the formula I (wherein: R1 is an alkyl, substituted cycloalkyl, phenylalkyl, cycloalkenyl group or the like; R2 is H, an alkyl or cycloalkyl group; R3 is an alkyl or cycloalkyl group; R4 is H or an alkyl group; R5 is a 5-membered hetrocyclic or substituted heterocyclic group having N, O and/or S atoms of 1 to 4; and Z is NH-CS-NH, N=C(SR6)- NH (R6 is an alkyl, alkenyl group or the like) or N=C=N), and salts thereof.
EXAMPLE: N-(2,6-diisopropyl-4-(4',5'-dichlorothiazol-2'-ylthio)phenyl)-N'-tert- butylthiourea.
USE: Pest control agents.
PREPARATION: Such a thiourea compound represented by the formula I is prepared by allowing an isothiocyanate compound represented by the formula II to react with an amine compound represented by the formula H2N-R1. Also, an isothiourea compound is prepared by allowing the thiourea compound to react with a compound represented by the formula X-R6 (X is a leaving group). Further, a carbodiimide compound is prepared by subjecting the thiourea compound to dehydrosulfurization reaction.
