To provide a suede-like artificial leather having excellent holding power of ultrafine fibers without hardening the texture, exhibiting excellent snagging resistance without deteriorating the appearance and texture and giving uniform plush appearance.
The suede-like artificial leather contains a polymeric elastomer in an entangled fiber material composed of fine fiber bundles, has ultrafine fiber plush on the surface and satisfies the following requirements (1) to (4): (1) the average single fiber fineness of the fiber constituting the plush is 0.0001-0.5 dtex; (2) the fiber constituting the plush accounts for 70-100% of the surface of the suede-like artificial leather; (3) the average length of the plush fiber is 200-1,000 m; and (4) a part of the polymeric elastomer is impregnated at an areal ratio of 1-30% from the outer circumference of the ultrafine fiber bundle into the ultrafine fiber bundle constituting the entangled fiber material.
