PURPOSE: To obtain a new sulfide derivative useful as a bactericidal agent having broad antibacterial spectra against noxious bacteria of paddy and horticulture fields, manifesting excellent controlling effects and having no detectable drug injuries for cultivated plants.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of the formula I (R1 is a low alkyl or substitutable phenyl; R2 is H, a lower alkyl, an aryl which may be substituted or an aralkyl which may be substituted; R3 is a low haloalkyl; R4 is imidazole, pyridine, pyrimidine, benzothiazole or benzoxazole, here, each of them may be substituted) and its structural isomers, e.g. (Z)-1-benzoy-2-(1-methylimidazol-2- yl)thio-3,3,3-trifluoropropene. This compound can be obtained by allowing a thiol compound of the formula R4-SH to react with an enol triflate derivative of the formula II in the presence of a base and preferably in a solvent. A compound of the formula II is a new substance and can be obtained by reacting a compound of the formula III with trifluoromethyl sulfonating agent.
