Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a composition capable of imparting a natural suntan-like color to skin by combining dihydroxyacetone with monohydroxyindole. CONSTITUTION: This composition is prepared by combining (A) a composition containing 0.1-10wt.%, preferably 1-6wt.% dihydroxyacetone in a medium suitable for topical application with (B) a composition containing 0.1-10wt.%, preferably 0.1-5wt.% compound represented by the formula (one of R1 to R4 is OH and the other three are each H) and its addition salt in the medium suitable for the topical application. The ingredients A and B as a part of the same composition are mixed just before use or applied successively or at a time interval. Water, a mixture of the water with an organic solvent or a mixture of the organic solvents or oily or fatty substances is cited as the medium suitable for the topical application.
