To provide a support mechanism for a front frame of eyeglasses in a barrel polishing machine by which the front frame of eyeglasses can be held in the most desirable and nearly constant stationary posture for preventing the front frame of eyeglasses from being excessively polished locally in a polishing barrel for polishing.
At least a pair of stay rods 3, 3, which corresponds to an interval between both rims (r, r) of the front frame F of eyeglasses as a polishing target, is extended between side frames 21, 21 on both sides of a mounting frame in each workpiece mounting frame 2. A large number of latching hooks 31 capable of latching both rims (r, r) of the front frame of eyeglasses are protrusively provided to the stay rods 3. The rims (r, r) of each front frame F of eyeglasses as the polishing target are respectively latched and set to the adjacently facing latching hooks 31, 31 of the stay rods 3, 3 in the workpiece mounting frames 2. Consequently, a large number of the front frames F of eyeglasses, which are latched and set in the nearly constant stationary posture between the stay rods 3, 3, are polished by being evenly brought into contact with an abrasive (e) moved by receiving centrifugal force in the rotating polishing barrel 1.
